Kenya Walking, Fishing and Game Viewing Safari

Day 01: Nairobi-Lake Nakuru
Your drive takes you down the Rift Valley floor to Lake Naivasha. Here successful Vineyards produced much of Kenya’s wine has been established. After a guided tour, have lunch consisting of local produce. (Boat ride to the Island is optional). Then proceed to Lake Nakuru via Kariandusi pre-historic site and Hyrax Hill. Dinner and overnight in Nakuru camp

Day 02: Lake Nakuru-Lake Bogoria-Lake Baringo
After breakfast do game drive in Lake Nakuru, whereby there are pink flamingos, white pelicans, marabou stork and a variety of other water birds that breed in the lake’s alkaline waters. Plains game, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo and lion can also be seen. You are also in search of black and white Rhino and other animals, After lunch proceed to Lake Bogoria, explore this Lake on foot to view flamingos and the hot springs before you continue to Lake Baringo, which enables you to see hippos at close range and the bird life that inhabits this Lake as over 350 species of birds have been recorded here including some that conform to a migratory pattern, as well as crocodiles and Egyptian geese which migrate all the way from western Europe. Dinner and overnight at camp

Day 03 Lake Baringo – Cherengani Hills
Leave Baringo for Cherengani via Marigat where you will have dinner and overnight at camp

Day 04: Cherengani - Saiwa Swamp
Leave Cherengani after a short walking trip on the hills with a guide for Saiwa swamp. Have a walk in this small park whereby you have a chance of seeing the water antelope Sitatunga. Have dinner and overnight at Mt. Elgon camp.

Day 05: Mt. Elgon National Park
After breakfast climb onto the park game drive followed by a walk to the caves Kitum, Makingeny and others. The drive continues to the end of the road where those who want to climb up can do a three hour walk to Koitobos. (Optional). Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 06 Mt. Elgon - Kakamega Forest
Leave Mt Elgon after breakfast drive via Webuye to Kakamega forest walk through the forest in the evening. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 07 Kakamega - Lake Victoria
After an early breakfast drive to Kisumu then to Ndere Island National park via Kit Mikaye where you will have chance to walk around and climb the rocks. Boat ride will take you to the island see the crocodiles and birds then drive back to Kisumu the evening will be spent in Kisumu Museum and may be a boat ride to Dunga point (optional)

Day 08: Kisumu - Kendu Bay- Homabay
Drive Southwards via Odino falls to Kendu bay for lunch then to Lake Simbi Nyaima have a walk around this lake see different types of birds, talk to local people to know much about this magical lake. Continue to Kanjira Hot springs. Then have dinner and overnight at Homa bay hotel. The evening will be spent to look for fishermen’s catch.

Day 09: Homa Bay -Rusinga - Mbita
Drive to Rusinga Island via Mbita point, explore this Island visit historical sites e.g. Tom Mboya Mausoleum and the fighting bulls etc. Afternoon boat ride to Takawiri Island for 1-2 hours fishing (optional) e.g. Nile Perch, Tilapia, mad fish, and crocodiles. Return in the evening to Mbita point for dinner and overnight at a local budget Hotel

Day 10: Mbita - Ruma National Park - Awendo
Leave Mbita in the morning towards Homa Bay for lunch. Proceed to Ruma National park, game drive then continue to Thim Lich Ohinga and Gogo falls. Drive to Awendo in the centre of sugarcane plantations. A tour of the sugarcane plantation is followed by dinner and overnight at Awendo in a local budget hotel.

Day 11: Awendo - Masai Mara
Leave Awendo for Masai Mara via Lolgorien. Short game drive. The abundance and variety of game in this reserve is nothing short of amazing. Practically every mammal can be seen in the Mara with a few exceptions. Various antelopes, scavengers like hyena and vulture are common. The reserve contains all the cats that are; lion, cheetah and leopard; sighting leopard needs luck more than just being there but lions are abundant and there are excellent chances for spotting cheetah. Elephants, buffalo, the Masai giraffe, wildebeest and the common zebra abound followed by dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 12 & 13: Masai Mara
2 days of full game drive take you to different parts of Mara with the hippo pool which is a popular spot to watch out for hippos being a highlight; with luck, you may catch crocodiles basking on the rocks. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Masai Mara - Nairobi
Morning game drive in search for lions, cheetahs etc. Then depart for Nairobi arriving in the evening.

All campsite fees in all the above mentioned parks
