Useful information.
Nairobi is about twice as expensive as living in Mtwapa:

1 br approx 12.000 to 15.000 unfurnished - water included
2 br approx 18.000 to 24.000 unfurnished - water included

Taxis start at 100 bob, 20 kilometre to Mombasa, 30 minutes max approx kes. 1000.

Outside food, electricity etc may be approx the same and depends on personal choice/use.
Here are however reasonable priced restaurants for approx kes 250 - 350 full main course meal, cold beer kes 120 per half litre bottle.

Cheers!
