I am marrying an Egyptian man. I have already been to the embassy and gotten my affidavit filled out and also to the ministry of foreign affairs and gotten the official stamp. now we need to go to the marriage court.

I have been divorced in the US and i have my divorce papers but they have only been certified by a notary in the US by the US courts. I keep reading that i need to get them authenticated by the Secretary of State in the US. has everyone gotten married in Egypt and had to provide divorce papers? did your papers have to be authenticated other than just by the court that issued them? I don't want to go to the marriage court and find out that I can't get married until this has been done. I am now back in the States for a month so wanting to know if I should start working on this while I am here.

thanks for any help.
