Hi,

If your partner is living there, he (or she) wd
be the best source of info.

These days, it is getting harder to get a
south african work permit. Basically, you
can get a work permit under:

- exceptional skills (here, you can also
get a permanent residence)

- if you have an offer from a SA company (a
bit harder, but possible)

Else, you may just bribe somebody in immigration (home affairs) to get you a work permit smiling smiley

This is what many people do these days.

hi,

basically, south africans are very cold towards foreigners - but, lemmie be straight forward, if you and your boyfriend are "white", you will probably fit in well, and probably quickly find a job. That is south africa for you.

Cars, fuel and accomodation are a bit cheaper, probably than australia. Work permit and/or residence permits - extremely hard to get, unless, of course, you choose to go the corrupt way.
