After serving as missionaries in Africa since the late 80's my family and I are working to import products for resale in the United States. We currently specializing in African cloth, but would like to expand from Kikoys to Kazuri bead products. Kazuri beads are very popular here, and the sale of them benefits the single mothers in Africa who make them. The trouble we see with Kazuri is in the transportation of them as they are heavy, fragile and have an expensive up front cost. Does anyone know of any other products that are unique to Kenya and that by purchasing would help the African people directly? We want to support the local hand made crafts if possible. Thanks!
