It is indeed too bad that you had such a bad experience in Senegal. Senegal can be quite a difficult place to get used to, especially if you don't speak French. I lived there for 3 years and I can say after a while you do learn how to get around some of the problems you had to deal with. If I'd have known in advance about your trip I could've introduced you to a couple of local people who are my close friends who would no doubt have gone out of their way to ensure your visit went smooth and that you would've enjoyed yourself there.
