Dar es Salaam

I am a New Zealander looking for information from expats living in Tanzania about living conditions, (housing, transport, safety, food, recretaion, expat life generally) before I agree to a possible posting.No children, so education etc not an issue.

I have searched the net in vain - can anybody help with details, or an email address so we can communicate one-to-one?

At present it looks likely to be Dar-es-Salaam but I'd also like to know about Dodoma if there are folk who know what its like to live there.

Dar has quite a large expat community. Life as an expat here in Dar is generaly very good. This obviously does depend on the company/organisation you are coming to work for. Hopefully you won't have to worry about water shortages and powercuts as this should be taken care of by your employer.
Otherwise Dar is very close to paradise. As a tourist you don't see most of its charms but once you get to know some people there I am sure you will enjoy it.
When are you expected and who are you going to work for?
