question about SA citizenship

Hi all! I would like to know how to get a permit to stay in South Africa for more than 3 months. I live in Belgium and am deciding on a move to Johannesburg, where my boyfriend lives. I know a normal visitors visa is valid for maximum 3 months, so what can i do if I want to be there for longer than that? We have a very stable relationship and in future we could decide on getting married, but I don't want it to be a forced decision. I know South Africa well enough to be sure about my relocation, and I have spent enough time there to know the pro's and con's of living there. For me the decision was easy, it's a lovely country with warm hearted people. I'm well aware of the negative sides, but my main motivation is to live there within this year.
Does anyone know where I can get the information I need? Many thanx, Lief smiling smiley

Easy sorry it has taken so long.

You get 3 months when you arrive.

To extend for 6 more months visit Home Affairs with a return ticket 6 months later a bank statement that shows you can support yorself.

Pay 300 Rand and it is done.
