I am coming in September and will be interested meeting highly qualified, experienced, professional guides and outfitters to work with to send groups and individuals all over Morocco: the south, the coastal cities, the middle-Atlas and the High Atlas, and the desert. We specialize in soft adventure and authentic cross-cultural encounters, but not rough or basic. Our American clients enjoy active, outdoor experiences in nature and encounters among native culture (as well as old cities, history, etc)and they appreciate nice accommodations, not luxury, but with historic charm, excellent service, pools where available, and good cuisine.
Our program is most suitable for travelers who seek off-the-beaten-path experiences, active and authentic involvement with people of other cultures. We arrange both group and custom individual departures. Although the ages and abilities of our clients vary widely, our core customers are 40-60 year old professional, sometimes parents and grandparents traveling with young children, who are willing to pay the price for a high quality experience that fulfills to their interests. Most of our clients are active, although they do not seek high risk or sports type activities.
We would be interested in offering two types of trips from 8-10 days, one that included some camping and another that used only lodges and historic hotels of interest. Overall, our clients prefer unique, historic or boutique hotels that are safe, clean and comfortable with good service. Although some occasionally request luxury, most prefer 3-4* accommodations that are well located with charm and character. They do not want budget hotels. Hotel and lodge rack rates we often use range in price from $80-$130 per room per night, not including tours and meals.
We seek to develop an itinerary that is different, which combines important historical sites and ecological diversity, with authentic opportunities for cross-cultural encounters. Most important, as an adventure travel company, our clients want to avoid large groups and over populated tourist attractions. Of course, each itinerary should include “must see” sites even if they are popular, but then balance those areas with travel to off-beat places that offer our clients a more personal and in-depth experience of the country and its culture.
Our clients expect knowledgeable and professional guides with honest and sincere personal interaction. We do not work with traditional tourist guides accustomed to leading large conventional tourist groups who interact only superficially with their guests.
