Hi all

I desperately need your help. I'm doing research on African Wedding customs. Anyone who has some knowledge on this subject please send me an e-mail with any information you can pass on. Please specify which part of Africa ( region ) the custom
belong to.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I can supply some information about BERBER weddings in the Sahara Desert in merzouga.

They take place in hte hot summer so that hte invited guests can sleepoutside in the cool of the night...

They last 3 days and nights with much music and festival. The local people are quite generous and welcome foreigners to stay and enjoy the food and lodging with them. They can see the henna being put on the hands and feet of the bride and groom. The bride washes her hair in henna and lets it set several hours.

There are many little rituals involved throughout the day.

Normally, she rides a camel as she approaches the village where she shall live with her husband's family.....
