december in Mauritius

Hi Travelers,

I am planning for my honeymoon in Mauritius in the month of December 2007.

We are planning to stay there in the first two weeks of December.

Just wanted to take the advice of all you experts that "Would December be the right season to enjoy in Mauritius?”

Your advice would really be helpful in planning our Honeymoon.

Was keen to know one more thing that this morning when I was searching on the best season to be in Mauritius, that’s what I have found:

"Weather-wise, the least agreeable period is from December to April, when the long days can prove too hot and humid for some and the threat of cyclones is in the air. Visitors should be prepared to spend several days cooped up indoors during extra-heavy rains."

I am little afraid of this "Cyclone" and "Heavy Rain" thing.

Is it really true?

I mean i don't want to spoil my honeymoon sitting in the room and waiting for the rain to be stopped or not enjoying the sea having a Cyclone threat <img src="[www.africaguide.com]]

Your Suggestions would really be helpful and appreciated.

in december I never got one

hello, am ritesh 24 yrs of age from mauritius island itself . well its so good to hear that you're plannig to visit here.
ok, i'll help you out.
it seems to me you're being afraid of the heavy rainfall and cyclone. yes, there is the risk of heavy rainfall and cyclones . but its usuallu from end of february to april that the risk is more. well its been years sice we did have the visit of cyclones in december , or january. concerning heavy raifall also, for the past few years its been after the 15th of january that we are having that type of weather .
am so sure about, as i cultivate vegetables over here together with my studies on motor vehicle engineering.
concerning places to choose, well that depends on what you're looking for.what temperature you like, what you want to be in your surroundings such as markets, quick access to places you like to visit etc
anyways thats all not so important. everywhere is bautyful here, especialy with the hot temperatures in december.
well i can suggest you places to visit here, or you may ask any information you want over here.

one last thing, am not any travel agent or anyone concerned in the tourism business, just a citizen from heere.
