Hello all...
Myself and partner and 3 children are looking to leave dreary England and relocate to Mauritius.
Having done a bit of homework I am confused by a few legislations. For example would we be able to buy a property with a view to renting out some of it as a holiday appartment and live in the rest of it. What is immovable property? I have read alot about this but still do not know what it is. I know that we do not need visas as we are part of the Commonwealth...I thought it best to ask someone who may have done what we are planning...any advice would be welcomed as I am now quite confused??? It all seems so simple so where is the catch???

Hi

I will try to help with your questions - as far as I know you can relocate to Mauritius if

you or your partner is Mauritian, or
you purchase a property with a price greater than USD 500k, or
you invest a sum greater than USD 500k

Immovable property is land or property in general i.e. unable to be moved.

Hi,
why don't you seek advice through an estate agency? this might clear your doubt.

Justin answered you promptly that was the exact answer , there is no way around apart from setting up a business , which is quite cumbersome!

Kayssaven, you are right but also wrong.
Setting up business is never cumbersome if you meet the right consultant <img src="[www.africaguide.com]]

Did you know that the 500K USD scheme is abolished?
