Weather during december in Mauritius???

Hi, we are planning to come to Mauritius during December (middle of the month) for 8 days - the dream is about to come true

I've made some reading in the internet and it seems that December might be quite rainy.

Is it really so (i mean in general)?

the december is a great time for Mauritius,
I stay every year there in this time,
you get fresh letschies and the flame trees are blowing, warm day and night

don't go to the east coast, there is mor rain

north or west is better

great buddy,this is the perfect time to come to Mauritius.u'll be able to enjoy all exotic fruits ,the salads of fruits sold on the streets is a must,i just hope u have a great stay here ..u must probable stay in the north of the island where u'll be able to enjoy all the pubs and discs aruond all nooks and corners.
