expats in mauritius

Hi, I'm a British citizen. I'm looking to live in Mauritius for a year or two. I teach English (to speakers of other languages)I'm also a dyslexia specialist.

I am seeking teaching or other professional jobs (adult education). Are there any job listings/directories/websites for Mauritius?

What are the chances (or restrictions) that apply to foreigners seeking employment in Mauritius?

Can anyone help?!?

Hi again Marian,

As i told you in the mail the way things goes. But one thing which must be took into consideration. You can come here for 6 months visit and then watch how things are here. then try to get a job by searching one by yourself. Yet that is very tough...and too risky.

What is better to my opinion. Is initiate a contact and then what you have to do is simply ask your prospective employer to seek the working permit for you. THat is easier and the chance of getting a work permit is greater.
