Le Caudan Waterfront, Mauritius owes its nomenclature to the name of a person called Jean Domenica Michel de Caudan, who came to this island from Languedoc for trading purposes and became very famous. He was a renowned salt maker by trade. Le Caudan Waterfront, Mauritius is today known as the Garden Robert Edward Hart. The nine hectares of Le Caudan Waterfront, Mauritius has six buildings which include the House, gathering stores, coffees and the cinema; the Observatory, including spaces of restoration; the Casino, with the original appearance of a pirate boat; Labourdonnais, a luxury hotel; Barkly Wharf, central building, joining together various trade (textile, services, leisure, artisan market). There is also an information counter inside the complex for the convenience of the tourists.
