Vic Falls to Lilongwe

I'll be spending 3 weeks in july in Malawi, in Blantyre area.
One of the things I would like to do very much is visiting Victoria Falls.
Can anyone suggest me the best way of travelling from Blantyre to Victoria Falls (and not very expensive)?, are buses a good idea?
Please, send some information on this corcern.

Not too sure about Blantyre to Vic Falls but I did bus from Vic Falls to Lilongwe last year. From Livingstone to Lusaka is a great bus-service. Luxury ones they'd imported from Brazil apparently. Lusaka to Lilongwe was hell, a very old, somewhat decrepid bus rammed full of people plus the obligatory goats and chickens. 18 hours in total!

Do you mean 18 hours in total both trips: Livingstone to Lusaka and Lusaka to Lilongwe, included?.
Did you have to spend a night somewhere?.
