The nation newspaper in Kenya has been around since 1958. At that time they were known for their Swahili weekly paper; Taifa which was published by Charles Hayes.

Charles Hayes went on to sell it to the Prince Karim Aga Khan IV at around 1959, which led to a change of name to "Nation Today". Eventually they were able to start an English version of the newspaper and it was called the Daily Nation, which at that time was published by the East African Newspapers Ltd, which is now the NMG (Nation Media Group).

Daily Nation Newspaper Kenya is not only one of the largest newspaper in East Africa but it currently has a circulation of 305,000 copies a day. They not only have the print media, but they also have online platforms where news and current events are aggregated and published. This increases their daily readership significantly.
