SA Citizen based in UK - go on holiday on SA passport?

Hi

I was born in SA but have lived in the UK for more than 20 years. I'm still an SA Citizen and don't have British Naturalisation or a UK Passport (it's the expense of Naturalisation that's put me off to be honest)

Anyway, I am intending to go on holiday (just in Europe in the first instance) on an SA passport and was wondering if I'd have difficulty gaining entry to my destination (Spain for example), or would I have difficulty coming back into the UK on my return journey?

You won't have difficulty travelling in Europe on an SA passport, you will need a visa though. you will also need to carry your original passport showing your right to remain in the UK, or you may have difficulty on your return.

If you've been in the UK for over 20 years you should get your citizenship. There's an easy Life in the UK test and a few forms.
