Can anyone explain the basics of inheritance law in Mauritius for biological children of the deceased? More specifically, who has the first right of inheritance between the spouse of the deceased and the latter's children? Our cousins' (both residing abroad since 2005 but still Mauritian nationals) just found out that their mother sold off the family home in Mauritius which was inherited from their deceased father. Was it within the mother's rights to sell the property without informing the other inheritors, i.e her children?
