 Let us start by warmly welcoming you to RUMAISA Hotel!  ‘Rumaisa’ is the Swahili word for ‘bunch of flowers’. We thought it was suitable for a beautiful place such as Zanzibar – and continued the idea by naming our rooms after different indigenous species to form a bunch of wonderful flowers, the touch and scent of which will immediately immerse you in the culture and traditions of our beautiful islands.  

Rumaisa Hotel is centrally located in the Malindi area of the Zanzibar Stone Town. This neighborhood, until not very long ago, was settled by Chinese who, like many traders and seafarers from all over the world, had come to the island generations back to build their businesses here. Nowadays, it forms an integral part of the old Stone Town.
