Hi Sherren, thanks for the reply. Its still early in our plans, we havent purchased land yet as we are now ata stage of fundraising and trying to get sponsors and well wishers onboard We paln to cater for around 20 children to start with but our building will have a capacity of aboyut 30 we are looking to ages between 5 - 10 as before 5 kids need specialist support and after 10 it can be hard...by kwame237 in: Anything Africa

Hi Sherren I'm Kwame. With regards to setting up an orphanage, I'm still in the early stages although much further along. I have a group here in the UK and we intend to form a charity and put up a web site. I also have a group in Kenya willing to assist and also some people in Arusha willing to help. With regards to registering with the Kenyan Government i am aware of that but i had no idea about the provincial children's welfare department. This is exactly the kind of information i need so i am very grateful. Hi folks i am Kwame recently back to England after a visit to Kenya . I am determined to set up an orphanage and I'm in the early stages of researching into it. I have got theree prospective sites and am waiting for confirmation of availabilty and costs of the land in those particular sites.
