Hi Tarryn No Hopper pass I am afraid, but ten something like that might take all the charm away of visiting the Southern-African sub region. I think the easiest might be to buy or rent a vehicle and then base yourself in a central region, Limpopo province of South-Africa for instance from where you would have easy access to most of these countries. Just a word of warning though, Vehicles in SA has always been quite expensive, (has to do with earlier sanctions and the protection of industry prohibiting import of 2nd hand vehicles). Hi MissSwiss If I had a choice I would fly into Dar.I consider Tanzania to be much safer and friendly. Look into Entebbe Uganda as well. They have good links to all East African countries and Europe. Hi Salva The trip through the Congo and North Angola might prove to be a bit of a nightmare at this moment. Uganda should be better, but that would mean Going down the East Coast of Africa. Hi Jen There are unsafe areas all over the world. a bit of commonsense, a friendly smile and loads of patience should see you safely thru most Southern and East African countries. If this is your first time in Africa it might be a good idea to go on an organised overland tour. Hi Alex 2 things..............Watch out for shysters who would want a free ride (or take ur ride as their own.) Why the rush, Africa North to South in 30 days?
