well as being a visitor one isnt allowed to buy car but The bus service in Mauritius is very good, according to our experience and has taken us to most places where we wanted to go. Buses run from early in the morning until around 8pm at night. They are very frequent, safe and cheap to use. Very recommendable by all accounts....
