hi there, dollars can be used anywhere in the subarbs in tanzania or zanzibar.but i dont advice you to use dollars because you will be paying more for goods and services that you will be buying.the best option i can give is you to change the money in Tsh. and you have to change them in the bureau de changes to avoid fake money. all the best and zanzibar is a very good palce.have fun ...by joh in: Tanzania Travel Forum
