can my husband get a mauritian passport? - 15 years ago

Hi My husbands grandfather is from mauritius but he does not have a mauritian passport though he will go to mauritius soon from south africa to see if he can get one. If he can get one will my husband as his grandson be able to get a mauritian passport? We would like to live there in the future. If he can't get a passport what other options do we have? We have no degrees in anything. Any help ...
