Low budget accomodation - 23 years ago

Having recently returned stateside from a three week stay in Northern Malawi, I can safely recommend: Kande Beach Campsite for a really good time and Mwaya Lodge for a more relaxing stay. Both spots are unique for what they have to offer. Kande has a dive school, parasailing, hobie cat and kayak rentals and usually pick up volleyball games, cricket etc... Phil, Probably one of the finest freshwater dive spots in Africa and definitely on Lake Malawi is to be found off of Kande Island. The PADI dive school "Aquanuts" offers inexpensive, personalized courses and the owner, Phil Parker has over twenty years diving experience in Africa, both Scuba and Free-Diving. The school is based in Kande Beach Campsite, which is well worth visting anyway...
