Hi! I will be in Zanzibar for approximately 9 months starting in September/October. I am concerned about finding long-term accomodation in Stone Town, as most of the things on the Internet seem to be geared towards tourists and therefore are far beyond my desired price range. Does anyone know of any nice guesthouses or rentals that I could occupy for a full 9 months?
My budget isn't tight, but it also isn't completely flexible. I prefer something that is traditional Zanzibari, rather than a government-run pension or some other bland place. I want something with character, and hopefully self-catering facilities (or an attached restaurant).
I am a single female and want my own bathroom.
I saw a place called Heart of Zanzibar, which sounds like a charm...but I'm not sure they like to accomodate long-term visitors.
Any other suggestions?
