Alternative Volunteers

We're putting together a low-key non-profit charity organisation that will hopefully put people in touch with volunteer opportunities/experiences in Africa as an alternative to the NGO, religious affiliated, corporate, government, etc. routes. The simple goal is to connect people who know of a need with those who have something to offer. Everything welcome. People with cop-on -- if not higher degrees and previous experience in Africa, will be willing to pay their own way, stay in a local hut or pop a tent and help out.

Our company (Blueprint Marteting) is doing a sponsered climb of Mt Kilimanjaro in November 2001. We would like to use the money raised from this, approx $aus2000, locally in Tanzania for a particular need eg orphanage etc. if you have any ideas of who we can use the money with please let us know. we are also keen to spend a couple of days after our trek helping out with the nominated charity/community group. any ideas as soon as possible would be appreciated.
