Hello Anand.

40k will be sufficient and accordingly you can save a min of 13k per month if you live decently.

Now is preuniversity education good ? Yes its good , consideration your case there are special schools for people like you , the cost is quite high ( not so high though) and furthermore the atmosphere for your child is pleasant , the school name is Le bocage.

Good luck,

Anand,

Its going to be much more. Its an international Syllabus. Around 60K per annum. Its expensive i think but many people do it here. For it is the best option round here.

Dear K7,

I can see that you are doing very good service
to people about Mauritius.

I have been offered a teaching job there.
What are the typical salaries of
college / univ teachers in Computer Science?

How much money do we have to spend in case:
1. A single man living alone with no special needs?
2. A couple living average quality of life?
3. A family of 3 adults & 2 children living
decently?

As you have guessed, in option 1, I have to
consider only food and single accomodation costs
whereas other options involve more accomodation
and food.

Maybe this is a longish question, but kindly take
time to reply. I want esp. to know about the
salaries offered to average and special(merit holders) people.

Kindly email a copy to palladium@rediffmail.com
Thanks and regards,

Palladium

Hello Palladium,

Curiously this name reminds me of my science classes .

yes to come to your questions :

A single Man living on his own has to spend around 5000 MUR maximum ( if living very modestly)

A family of 3 adults and two children will be 10 000 to 12 000 MUR believe me that the average if you live within your budget.

A couple living average life style in the mauritian context 7000 MUR

If you are special merit holders and teaching in the university you will get more than 25 K per month. and average may result in 15 K per month.

hope that i answered most of your questions Palladium

Well since you are out to help us, please do this:

1. Could you please let me know the salary structure of university / college teachers in Mauritius? Like Lecturer / Reader / Professor... etc.

2. Are these salaries very rigid, or flexible too like does the structure permit offering higher start to deserving candidates, or everyone gets the same starting salary as per STRUCTURE.

Thanks in advance!
