we are also going to malawi in august. do you already have special plans what to do and where to go? do you know anything about the present- day situation in the country? where do you come from? perhaps you are interested to meet us there?

Hi everybody,
I am going to Malawi in August, planning also to do a trip to Likoma. Unfortunately my travel-plans and the schedules of the Illala Ferry are completely incompatible, so I am looking for other possibilities to enter the island. I have heard tales about speedboats between Likoma and Nkhata Bay, does anybody know more about that/know any other way?

There is a company - accommodation establishment on Likoma Island, who ferries customers across to the island. I don't know whether you have to stay there to be able to get a ride.

They do charge for it - so probably not.
