Description

*Crocodile Nest B&B is situated on a Citrus-exporting farm alongside the N4 highway in the Crocodile River Valley just outside Nelspruit.  Our guests enjoy the relaxed pace of farm living, whilst being only 10 minutes away from  the Nelspruit CBD. 
 
*This is a working farm; guests are welcome to observe normal farming life. There is plenty of parking space for larger vehicles, boats, trailers.  Security is provided by an extensive, alarmed electric fence and the services of a Professional Security Service and Response team.
 
*Our bird life is truly special, and waking up to the birdsong is a wonderful experience. Guests are welcome to take walks around the farm and along cleared stream banks where small game species can be encountered. “Fosho” Dam and Sunset Rock are good contemplative spots!
 
*Accommodation is provided in traditional Rondavels (round thatched rooms), Family units and neat wooden sleeper Cabins, spread throughout the expansive tropical gardens.  The swimming pool and a large social braai are available for use by our guests.
 
*All rooms are ensuite and have fans/heaters as well as a fridge, microwave, kettle, tv (local, not such good reception).  The little sleeper cabins are only equipped with fans/heaters and are ensuite.   However, these little cabins have exclusive use of a communal living/self catering unit near the large braai area.
 
*Our establishment has proved convenient for guests who want to base themselves in one location whilst doing day trips to visit the lovweld’s tourist attractions.

Directions to Crocodile Nest Bed and Breakfast

From Johannesburg
Take the N12 to Emalahleni which joins the N4 Highway to Nelspruit and on to Maputo. Continue along the N4 highway till you reach the Machadodorp Toll.

Approximately 2-3 km after the toll the N4 splits via Schoemanskloof/Lydenburg to the left or straight on past Waterval Boven and Waterval Onder. Generally the left or Schoemanskloof option is the better one. The Waterval Boven route is slower as it is carrying a lot more big trucks. They rejoin again approximately 30 km before Nelspruit. Crocodile Nest is approximately 18 kilometers further on your right.

2.5 km before the Crocodile Nest B&B turnoff/entrance to the right is the Nkomazi fuel station and Golden Spot supermarket. Crocodile Nest B&B is signposted with Tourist brown/white signs together with Wokini Lodge.

Safe journey, and enjoy the scenery as you come down the escarpment. The journey should take roughly 3-3½ hours, depending on length and frequency of stops.

From Maputo/Malelane/Komatipoort
Remain on the N4 towards Nelspruit. As you come past Nelspruit you will see Makro on your left. Stay on the N4 crossing the Crocodile River and the cane fields after that.
The road coming out of Nelspruit feeds into the N4 at this point. Carry on for approximately 6kms and you will see the first Crocodile Nest B&B brown and white sign. The second sign is 500m later at the turn off to the left. You have arrived at our electric green gate and intercom.

From Badplaas/Barberton
Driving on the R40 towards Nelspruit you will pass Mediclinic Nelspruit on your right. Carry on straight and you will see Rob Ferriera Hospital on your right. You will approach an intersection after the hospital. Turn left onto the R104 (Samora Machel Dr) The Crossings Centre will be on your right. Continue straight passing Ilanga Mall on your left. Further on you will pass Halls Farm Stall on your left. Continue past the Cairn and Burnside Roads. You will see a golf driving range on your left. Carry on for approximately 1.5kms and you will see the sign for Crocodile Nest B&B on your left. You have arrived at the electric green gate and intercom.
