The camp is situated in the southwest of the Gambia in Sanyang - with its typical houses of the Diolas, you will live (almost) like an African.
The camp is situated in the southwest of the Gambia in Sanyang - with its typical houses of the Diolas, you will live (almost) like an African. You live in the "bush", near the Paradise Beach Bay. In complete silence and no car traffic. There is no electricity, kerosene lamps and candles illuminate the evening idyll. Musicians from the village play on their traditional instruments.
Gladly we also offer you drum lessons. The lessons are two hours a day. You can learn to play djembe, bass drum, and upon request Balaphon Kora.
Discover the many attractions of this particular country. . Treat yourself to the delicious African cuisine. Lots of fresh fish, vegetables from the garden and of course all kinds of tropical fruits. Feel the nature around you like a fresh breath of a more beautiful life. Listen comfortably from the hammock, the enchanting song of the more than 500 different bird species.
Help for the tropical forest ... You can also buy drums and Balaphon. For each instrument made of wood, you are asked to buy a tree. These trees are inexpensive and protect the climate. On a little trip go to the tree nursery, where you can choose your "personal" tree.
Accommodation is available in the guest house (typical Diola House) with 4 double rooms and in the 3 simple round huts (single rooms) with mosquito nets and safe. Each room has its own "Afro-shower" behind the house.
