How to Travel by Sea to Morroco from France

Hi, I have enjoyed reading lots of interesting travel scenarios to Morroco but I haven't come across one such as the one we are wanting to try out. We(party of 2) are planning to travel from France to Morocco later this year. We would like to travel by sea instead of fly. Does anyone know how to do this? We are not rich so cannot afford to rent a private yacht nor do we want to take a cruise ship. Are there any ferries that run across the Mediterranean? Thanks, JJ
