Day 1 - 3
From Pretoria, we travel north to Polokwane in the Limpopo province to meet the group coming from Kruger National Park and join them for a village open-air museum experience at Bakone. The following day, we complete formalities at the border post, enter Zimbabwe and drive through stunning landscapes to Bulawayo, the second-largest city in Zimbabwe. Here we enjoy the evening exploring the city and the bustling nightlife. The following day we explore Matobo National Park with a local operator by vehicle and foot to view the endangered Rhino's that inhabit the area, the many roaming animals and some bushman paintings which are located in nearby caves.
Day 4 – 5
We continue north to Victoria Falls and settle into our accommodation. We visit the ‘Falls’ themselves, where the Zambezi plunges 100 metres into the Botoka Gorge. We enjoy a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi in search of the wildlife inhabiting the area. The rest of your time is at leisure to sample the many optional activities available e.g. rafting, canoeing, scenic flights and other adventure activities. In the evening we embark on an evening cruise on the mighty Zambezi in hope to view the many animals and crocodiles basking on the banks.
Day 6
We cross into Botswana to the Chobe National Park. Here we take a river cruise on the Chobe River. The area is known for its stocks of elephants but Chobe also contains hippo, crocodile, antelope, lion and hyena, and a variety of birdlife including the famous African Fish Eagle.
Day 7 – 10
We then drive south, travelling via Nata to Maun and the Okavango Delta. We explore the Okavango’s reed-filled waterways and islands on foot and by dug-out canoe (mokoro), and stay at a tented camp on one of the islands in this watery paradise. The opportunity to talk and spend time with the local ‘polers’ (guides) makes this is a memorable wilderness experience.
Day 11 – 12
We travel to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, established to restock the area with rhino and other grazing animals. We take an evening game drive across the reserve, enjoying the wildlife and open horizons as the day turns to dusk. Finally, we cross back into South Africa to Pretoria where our tour ends.
