5 days Wildlife & Gorilla Safari Uganda

An amazing safari that combines the wide savannah plains in Queen Elizabeth with the dense tropical forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Excellent wildlife viewing and unforgettable encounters with the primates of Uganda!

Day 1 : Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park. Approx. 7hrs drive
Pick up at a place TBA in Kampala and we depart to one of the most beautiful protected areas in Uganda: Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we will pass the Ugandan Equator where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir. We continue to Mbarara for lunch and then follow the road to the southwest and head for the Western Rift Valley. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park you will enjoy a short evening game drive as we drive to our accommodation in the middle of the park. It is likely to spot waterbucks, warthogs and reedbucks while the sun slowly sets.
Dinner and overnight at Elephant Plains Lodge- cottage (L-D)

Day 2 : Queen Elizabeth National Park
The day begins early as we start with a morning game drive and head for the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for the lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant bird life that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari.
Dinner and overnight at Elephant Plains Lodge- cottage (B-L-D)

Day 3 : Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi National Park. Approx. 4hrs drive
After breakfast you may choose to go for a hike in the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve in search of the chimpanzees (not included). It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, completely covered with tropical rainforest. We continue to Bwindi, home of the endangered mountain gorillas.
Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs- cottage (B-L-D)

Day 4 : Bwindi National Park
The highlight of your primate safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs B-L-D

Day 5 : Bwindi National Park – Kampala. Approx. 10hrs drive
After breakfast we head back to the capital city. En route we will pass the region that is also called “Little Switzerland in Uganda” and the Ugandan equator. With a stop for lunch we will arrive in Kampala in the evening.

About Our Reviews

Our reviews are Fully Qualified

We do not take reviews from unqualified sources

Since 1996 we have been working with the best tour operators in Africa. Our unique relationship with those operators ensures only people who have participated in a trip after making an enquiry for it at AfricaGuide.com can leave a review.

The email we send you when you make an enquiry has full instructions for registering a booking and leaving a review - both are free services.

Feel free to read through the reviews for any trip you like the look of.

Trips with no reviews are usually new to AfricaGuide.com but are normally operated by a tour operator who is established here and has gained operator reviews for you to read.

Thanks for visiting, happy travels and don't forget to send us your reviews...

About our trip providers and reviews

Our Trip Providers

We carry out extensive company checks on all our providers, over 20 years we have built strong personal relationships with each of them, which assures you of an unparalleled service, great value and the trip of a lifetime.
We have participated in many of the trips found here (we have a nice job) and make our own independent assessments of the services provided, ensuring they meet with our own high standards.

All the trips are supplied by the end provider of that trip.
You may find the same or similar trips elsewhere, usually these are offered by an agent.
We prefer to give you direct access to the trip provider for reasons outlined below:

  1. Best price.
The price you see here is the direct trip price set by the provider, the same price as purchasing directly with them (which is how it works), there are no added commissions.
This means you are not paying an agents commission and the provider is receiving their fully budgeted trip cost.
(agents can demand discounts from providers as well as adding commissions to the providers trip price)
  2. Easy customisation.
By booking directly with the end provider, making changes is quick and easy.
  3. Fast problem solving.
On the rare occasion that an issue may arise before or during your trip, by dealing directly with the end provider, problem solving is quick and efficient.
  4. Helping Africa help itself.
The most straightforward way to assist the economic opportunities and conditions for local people across Africa, is by direct financial interaction with people in Africa. In a nutshell "Tourism".
This kind of direct tourism gives opportunity to local people.

We limit the number of providers we work with in order to strike a balance between a good choice of trips and to be sure we can honestly recommend the service and validity of each provider.
Because the majority of trips can be customised by the providers, the choice of trip configurations is in the tens of thousands.

Our Reviews

We have 3,000+ reviews for our trips and providers.
All our reviews are fully qualified, we do not take unqualified reviews.
We show all reviews, the good and the critical (very few). Our providers have the ability to respond to reviews and those responses are shown alongside the review.
Acquiring genuine reviews is actually very hard, for our genuine travellers we make this an easy process but many people although satisfied with the service they received do not leave a review.

Many reviews on the internet can be left by an open process with little or no checks.
At best unqualified reviews are worthless, at worst they are misleading. We never take unqualified reviews.

We hope you find a trip to your liking and we are here to assist.

Wishing you happy travels...
