used 4wd

Hi, I am travelling to Africa with my wife in August. We would like to buy a used 4wd in Kenya and travel mainly through eastern/southern africa. We are looking at a used landrover defender, early 80's. Does anyone recomend dealers to contact ? or are there better sources for this type of vehicle other than a dealer? We also want to pick up a pop top tent for the land rover, preferably used. Again, any suggestions on this?

it's cheap to buy in South africa then travel towards east africa and sell in Tanzania or Uganda or kenya
