Hi

Re Healthcare.

Usually Egypt has very low hygene conditions except for some selected areas.

RE hospitals, gov. ones are not reliable at all and might cause you diseases and infections, on the other hand private ones are clean, and very efficent, e bit more expensive, but nothing compared to what you in Europe.

Also, Egypt is full of private clinics, and all doctors speak fluent or good English as the latter is the language of medical studies in Egypt.
Private doctors are vert good, you just have to go to one's clinic and pay the ticket and wait for your turn.

Usually it ranges from 50 to 100 LE ( 6.5 to 12 Euro).

Medical insurance will not be of great help as many hospitals don't recongnise it.

A visa for the old 15 EU countries is not requested for a stay of 40 days maximum. If you intend to stay more you have to go the passport and immigration department and extend your stay.

If you get a visa before you enter Egypt you pay around 60 Euro at the Egyptian embassy/ consulate, while if you get the stamp upon arrival at the airport, you pay ony around 15 Euro.

Good luck.
