Can anyone tell me the meaning of the name Rotimi? A friend of mine has a son whose name is to be legally changed to Rotimi. She wants to be certain of the meaning. I see that there are MANY people in Nigeria named Rotimi, so I think it is Nigerian and in the Yoruba language. Thanks for the help!!
Oluwamidurotimi, simply put 'Oluwa mi duro timi', means 'my Lord stands by me'. When shortened to 'Rotimi', it becomes 'stand by me'. this can then be a name given to someone you love.
