Description
Ujamaa Hostel provides high quality budget accommodation for volunteers and travelers in Arusha, Tanzania. We are a fun, friendly, safe and affordable hostel where you can meet like-minded people, explore the Tanzanian culture and volunteer within the local community. Guests are welcome to enjoy our large garden, BBQ, common room and converse with out multi-lingual staff.
We offer 4 dorm rooms with 20 beds total as well as 1 double room. Each bed has a lockable drawer to store valuables and a wardrobe area for clothing. All linen is provided as well as mosquito nets on each bed. Please bring your own towel.
Breakfast, dinner and laundry services are free at Ujamaa; we also offer a drinks fridge where guests can buy beers and sodas at any time. Wireless internet access is available on site for $1 per day. We have an on-site bar and offer free parking. Guests are permitted to cook their own meals in a shared kitchen. The hostel provides free use of bicycles. We provide 24-hour gate access and 24-hour security.
Ujamaa Hostel is located a 5 min walk from the Cinema Complex where you can find restaurants, movies, a western supermarket, bars, gym and other shops. Downtown Arusha is a mere 10 min bus ride where internet access, local markets, post office, restaurants (serving a wide range of western cuisine) and bars are located. Arusha is the gateway to the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Mt Mero and just over an hour from the roof of Africa—Mt Kilimanjaro. There are also a wide range of cultural sites including Masai markets, local crafts and the UN International War Crimes Tribunal for Rwanda.
How To Find Us
We provide airport pickups from Kilimanjaro International Airport for
US$40 or can arrange a taxi from town.
If coming by taxi we are located in Njiro. Take the first right after the Njiro Cinema Complex we are 400m down on the left.
