Domwe Island is the biggest and wildest island on Lake Malawi, making it ideal for active and nature-loving guests. The clean, protected waters around the island allow all guests, irrespective of fitness or experience, to enjoy sea kayaking, snorkeling, swimming and SCUBA diving; while challenging nature trails and the lengthy shoreline will delight those with a penchant for exploration.
Domwe Island Camp is basic but exclusive with only three fully-furnished safari tents and two tent sites. The kitchen has two full-time staff members, and is fully-equipped with gas stove, fridge, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. Guests can self-cater and cook their own meals; or pre-arrange foodpacks and hire a chef. You choose…
Sea kayaks, snorkeling gear, tents and bedding can be hired at reception as required. While there is much to see and do, the remoteness and tranquillity of the island also offer an opportunity for quiet contemplation of this unique and stunning piece of nature.
Domwe Island is located 5kms offshore of Cape Maclear. You can take a boat from our reception on the shore, or hire a kayak from them and paddle there with a guide.
Camping is $25 per person per night on a camp site or $50 per person per night in a fully-equipped tent.
