I T I N E R A R Y Day 1: Meet at theOffice at 0830 in the morning. Depart Lilongwe at 0900. Proceed on a dirt road to Luangwa Valley - Mfuwe sector. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route and ETA at the Lodge is 2.30pm. On arrival we check into our chalets followed by tea and coffee. A gentle walk along the Luangwa River is available for those that wish. Evening dinner. Overnight Chalets Day 2 & 3: Tea, coffee and a light snack follow an early morning wake up call. Our aim is to be on our first game drive by 6.15 am. All game drives are undertaken in specially modified game viewing vehicles, to optimise your pleasure and experience. Drinks and snacks are taken along for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge at 11 for a scrumptious "brunch". An afternoon rest then we again head out for our afternoon drive at around 1530 - returning to the lodge at 1800. Evening Dinner [There is an optional night drive for those that wish ($ 25)] Overnight Chalets Day 4: After an early breakfast we depart back to Chipata and head off to Lusaka along the Great East Road, with a brief stop at Luangwa Bridge for a picnic lunch. ETA in Lusaka is mid afternoon. On arrival we check into our chalets at Pioneer Camp. Evening dinner. Overnight Chalets Day 5: After an early start and breakfast we continue through Lusaka, over the Kafue River to Victoria Falls. ETA in Livingstone is lunchtime. Check into our chalets at the The ZAMBEZI WATERFRONT complex. After lunch a visit to Victoria Falls is included. Spend the afternoon viewing the falls and following the numerous trails in the area. Return to the Lodge & evening dinner. Overnight Chalets Day 6: Today you are able to experience the numerous activities and options that has established this area as the "Adrenaline Capital of Africa". Today only your breakfast is included and you have the entire day to pursue the activity of your choice, which are organised, on site. Overnight Chalets Day 7: You have a morning left in this adventure play area to do some last activity, shopping or take that bungi jump of your life. We depart the lodge at midday back to Lusaka. ETA in Lusaka is late afternoon. Overnight at Pioneer Camp in chalets. Dinner is included. Day 8: After breakfast, we return to Lilongwe. Picnic lunch en route. ETA in Lilongwe is late afternoon. [bold]Thornicroft Lodge. is set on the banks of the Luangwa River offering accommodation in 10 en suite chalets built from stone, concrete and wood. Each spacious and airy structure has a canvass roof and is designed to allow maximum visibility even when you are in your room. Each room has 2 X three quarter beds and luxurious mattresses and bedding to ensure you the best nights rest possible, whilst being safely tucked inside your large walk in mosquito net. Each chalet has a veranda with a view of the river and the park. Victoria Falls needs no introduction – as one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, it is perhaps the most visited site in Southern Africa and hence leisure facilities and opportunities abound. The sight of millions of liters of water gushing into a huge chasm creating the famous “smoke that thunders” is a sight that has inspired and enthralled visitors for a century already. The Zambezi Waterfront Village has well appointed chalets set is spacious grounds. There are 2 swimming pools situated near the bar, BBQ and auditorium. Stunning Zambezi sunsets can be enjoyed from the entertainment complex or the restaurant area. The accommodation site has communal ablution facilities.
