UGANDA AND RWANDA GREAT APES GORILLA SAFARI Day 1: Arrive Entebbe, met at the airport by our representative and transfer to the Windsor Lake Victoria. In the afternoon, transfer to the Lake Victoria Shore for a speed boat to Ngamba Chimp Island for a visit to the Jane Goodall Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Return to the hotel for dinner before overnight. (D) Day 2: Morning breakfast then a take a 5 - 6 hour road transfer on a very good road to the edge of the Kibale Forest. Take a nocturnal forest walk to spot the Bushbabies, Galagos and potos.Dinner and overnight at the Kibale Primate Lodge. (B) (L) (D) Day 3: Breakfast early then transfer into the Kibale Forest for a morning chimpanzee Safari in a truly African Jungle. Other primates Include: Red Tailed Monkeys, Black and White Colubus Monkeys, Grey Cheecked Mangabeys, Olive Baboos and Black Faced Vervet Monkeys. Meals and overnight at Kibale Primate Lodge.(B) (L) (D) Day 4: Travel to the Chambura gorge forest after an early breakfast for an afternoon primate trekking safari in this forested gorge primates.Hippos and other wildlife may also be encountered which is why you would trek with an armed ranger. Thereafter, depart for Jacana Safari Camp or Katara Lodge for Meals and overnight. (B) (L) (D) Day 5: Early departure for Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla National Park with picnic lunch. Arrive Early evening for a forest walk along the River Munyaga before dinner and overnight at The Gorilla Resort. (B) (L) (D) This Intimate exclusive high end safari camp with a breath taking view of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located at Buhoma - Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla National Park on a Mountain side. The camp has been constructed and built to the highest standards whilst retaining sympathy with the local surroundings. Wherever possible local materials and craftsmen have been utilised. Day 6: After breakfast, report at the park offices for the Mountain gorilla safari briefing by the ranger guides prior to the trek to find the Mountain Gorillas with picnic lunch. The gorillas are tracked, located and after aproximately one hour with them, the gorilla safari ends with a return to base for a shower and cold drink. Dinner and overnight at The Gorilla Resort. (B) (L) (D) Day 7: Travel to Kisoro after breakfast through beautiful mountain scenery. Have a picnic lunch along the way enjoying the magnificent views of the Mountain Gorilla Volcanoes of Rwanda. Transfer to the border and cross over to Ruhengeri for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla's Nest Lodge. (B) (L) (D) Day 8: Breakfast early then transfer to the Virunga volcanoes for another trek of the Dian Fossey Mountain gorillas. The Gorilla Safari starts at the park offices and could last between 1 hour or up to eight hours depending on the Gorilla movements in the forest. Dian Fossey spent 20 years studying mountain gorillas in this part of the Volcanoes. Return to Gorilla's Nest Lodge (B) (L) (D) Day 9: After breakfast, the gorilla safari adventure ends with transfer to Mbarara for lunch before heading to Kampala arriving late evening. Overnight at the 5 Star Kampala Serena Hotel. (B) (L) (D) Day 10: After morning breakfast and shopping in Kampala, transfer to the airport for departure flight. (2) 20% of the payment towards gorilla trekking goes directly to the local communities surrounding the Mountain gorilla Sanctuaries. (3) Most of the gorilla trackers were once poachers for bushmeat but have now been hired for conservation purposes because of their past experience with the gorilla habitat. (4) Because of the nature of the roads, Uganda, Rwanda gorilla tours are conducted in 4x4 safari vehicles.
