Family safaris
Mom and Dad want a few things on safari. They want to enjoy the African bush without the hustle and bustle of public rest camps and restaurant meals – this safari is conducted by a qualified specialist Kruger field guide and private chef who together provide enormous insights into the ecological wonders and diversity of the bush – conducted out of two of the only five private bushveld lodges in the Kruger – this safari is aimed more towards the eco-conscious family who want to experience nature and not ‘tourist nature’.

Game drives are all conducted in our own private open game viewing vehicle, a backup vehicle (closed) is also ready in case of bad weather. We conduct our safaris in small, luxury bushveld camps, the accommodation allows Mom, Dad and children to share a two or three bedroom unit with at least two bathrooms – these luxury units allow for complete comfort and safety while in the bush. Your ranger and chef take up residence in a similar unit which is transformed into the catering unit and made ready for all meals, fireside drinks and fantastic hospitality.

Early morning game drives, afternoon game drives and a specially arranged night drive are conducted out of the bushveld camp, always situated deep in the bush, and away from the sounds of hundreds of people. – Neil, your guide and father of two small boys of his own, is passionate about sharing the wonders of wildlife with children. Neil focuses on behavior, tracks and signs, sounds and smells of the bush as well as the interpretations of why animals and birds are so diverse and beautiful. To be on safari with Neil is an amazing experience.

Meals and refreshments (including four meals a day) are planned for your family long before the trip starts – all meals and refreshments (including the extra little peanut butter sandwich when needed) are all included. There is always a plentiful supply of bottled water, fresh juice (a soda or cool drink if needed, and of course toasted marshmallows around the fire at night.

We realise that this is probably your family’s “once in a lifetime” experience and that you don’t want to make bad decisions, contact us for many references and testimonials from people all over the world who have been on safari with us in the past – we will gladly send through their email addresses for you to talk to them.

Your itinerary is exclusive to your family. There is no one sharing safari – just you and your kids (plus your guide and chef of course).

Your children will love the amount of wildlife and close up adventure they will experience, from the African skies, the vegetation, birds and big mammals like giraffe, zebra, baboons, lions and elephants – all interpreted by your fully trained field guide.

Evening mealtimes are a fantastic adventure around the fire – with stories and fireside tales of the day’s adventure, and exciting interludes into the environment and conservation. We don’t forget about mom and dad on safari – and during your time in the bush with us – we will make sure that there is time available for you to enjoy time alone if you wish.

This is the finest way to introduce your family to a real safari adventure with people that understand what a family needs on holiday. – No stress, no fuss.

Family safari fully inclusive of:
all meals, refreshments, Kruger accommodation, conservation and entrance fees, return road transfers from Johannesburg/Nelspruit to Kruger, all game drives (two a day) plus a night drive with armed ranger.
