Tour Information:
Located in south-east Tanzania in a remote and little-visited part of the country, the Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest protected wildlife reserve. Its rivers, hills, and plains are home to roaming elephant populations, the area’s famous wild dogs, and some of the last black rhino left in the region. The Rufiji River is the largest water catchment locations in the region, and as such, is home to a plethora of varied water and bird life. Along its shores, oppulent hippos sleep languidly in the mud. Crocodiles are also common along the Rufiji’s riverbanks. Stiggler’s Gorge, where the Great Ruaha River meets the Rufiji River, is a breathtaking example of the diversity and spectacular scenery along the game reserve's waterways.
And also you will get to see the open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centerpiece of Mikumi, which draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Lions survey their grassy kingdom – and the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds that migrate across it – from the flattened tops of termite mounds, or sometimes, during the rains, from perches high in the trees. Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River, islets of shade favoured also by Mikumi's elephants.
Tour Itinerary:
Day One: Arrival (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania)
Arrive Dar es Salaam, dinner and overnight at Jangwani Sea Breeze Resort. BB

Day Two: Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve
Breakfast at Jangwani Sea Breeze Resort and thereafter breakfast depart for Selous Game Reserve. Lunch en route. Arrive Selous at 3pm. You may go for an evening game drive in the Selous if you are not tired.
Dinner and overnight at Hippo tented camp, FB
Day Three: Selous Game Reserve
Boat safari after breakfast for 2hrs in the Rufiji River and then proceeds with day game drive after early lunch. Dinner and overnight at Hippo tented camp, FB
Day Four: Selous – Mikumi National Park
After breakfast ready to depart at 7am, game drive en route for about 3hrs before leave the park to Mikumi. Mikumi cannot be reached on the same day; you will overnight in between Mikumi and Morogoro. Lunch will be en route.
Dinner and overnight at Tan Swiss Hotel, FB
Day Five: Mikumi National Park
After break fast, Proceeds to Mikumi for game drive. Late evening drive back to your hotel for Dinner and bed at Tan Swiss Hotel FB
Day Six: Mikumi – Dar es salaam
After breakfast, depart back to Dar es Salaam.
Dinner and overnight at Jangwani Breeze Resort. BB
