Burkina Faso is one of the safest and friendliest countries in all of Africa. Although it receives a small number of tourists per year, it is an excellent destination for anyone interested in seeing beautiful West African country and exploring African culture and music.
Day 1 Travel to Ouagadougou the capital of Burkina Faso. After welcoming at the airport you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Transfer from Ouagadougou to Lobi. Lobi is located in the South- West of Burkina Faso. The Lobi people do not live close in villages, but on distance from each other. The area has been afflicted for centuries by tribal war. The houses are build as little forts without windows and with only a few light and air holes in the roof.
Day 3 – 4 Today we bring a visit to a pottery. In the woman’s rooms we will directly have notice of the many pots. Sometimes they have more than one hundred pots in a room. This is the proud procession of every woman. Woman inherit the collections of their mothers and sisters and build out the collection themselves to a valued static symbol. Pottery is woman’s work. Lobi’s are also good balafonists (musicians who play a kind of xylophone) and the best archers of Burkina Faso. After that we bring a visit to the Sukalas houses and fetishes. When the inhabitants are not sure about the identity and intension of a visitor they still use the magic warning system. A fetish on the roof of a house is detecting the stranger and passes on the information to the inhabitants. Of course we will take a closer look in a house.
Day 5 We will bring a visit to the museum of Gaoua. Gaoua is the most important place of Lobi area. The Lobi museum is the best attraction to begin when you visit this area. After that we drive to Nazinga, a place in the south of the country.
Day 6 Today we bring a visit to the famous reserve in Nazinga. This place is being visited by many tourists. In the Nazinga reserve live the most elephants of west-Africa ! The reserve is protecting the elephants, because they used to hunt on elephants. In the park we will also meet birds and antelopes. We will camp in Nazinga.
Day 7 We bring a visit to tiébélé, the capital of Kassenas. This is the most colorful village of Burkina Faso. We will visit these houses and stay for overnight with the inhabitants.
Day 8 Today we will bring you to the airport of Ouagadougou for your flight back to your home destination. The end of a wonderful round trip through Burkina Faso.
