Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands and Balaule Game Reserves – Combination Tours 2009 Kruger National Park, established in 1898, is often referred to as the brightest jewel in South Africa’s treasure chest. Home to more species of wildlife than any other game sanctuary on the continent, the Park is unrivalled in terms of the diversity of its life forms. Dubbed the flagship of South African National Parks, it boasts an impressive 336 types of tree, 49 fish, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. It is one of Africa’s few remaining havens for big cats and well over a thousand lions as well as large populations of leopard and cheetah who roam freely here. Sabi Sands and Balalule both share unfenced borders with Kruger National Park, allowing the ooportunity to view and photograph elusive wild life in their natural habitat from open game vehicles during morning and evening game drives. Two 3 day tours are available to you Premium Tour – combination of Kruger Park and Balule Game Reserve Traditional Tour – Kruger National Park Tours of 5 and 6 days include Nkorho Bush Lodge and the luxurious Elephant Plains Game Lodge. Located in the Sabi Sands, both Nkorho Bush Lodge and Elephant Plains Game Lodge offer personal service and excellent views. At both lodges, highly experienced game rangers and guides will help to make your African safari come alive as they track the Big 5 and educate you about the many interesting facets of bush life. Alternatively contact us to design a custom made safari specifically for you and your group, no matter what the size, big or small. Premium Tour 3 days, 2 nights Day 1. You will be transported by airconditioned minibus to your overnight destination at a private lodge, Mohlabetsi (Place of Sweet Waters), in the Balule Game Reserve attached to the Kruger Park. A sunset game drive on an open safari vehicle allows the opportunity to see elusive nocturnal animals. Dinner is served in a “boma” under the African sky. Day 2. Rising at dawn for an early morning game drive. Followed by a hearty breakfast back at the lodge before heading for the nearby Kruger National Park. A mornings game viewing is followed by time for lunch at one of the Parks resort areas, followed by an afternoons game drive en-route to Moholoholo nestled under the Drakensberg Mountains. Dinner is served open air on a raised platform over looking a water hole and is followed by a late night drive in open vehicles. Day 3. Again rising at dawn, a game walk is offered with an experienced game ranger, with the chance to see and experience the “smaller things” found in the bush. This followed by breakfast and a visit to the famous Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Departing for Johannesburg the tour takes in views of the breathtaking panorama of the Blyde River Canyon. On entering the Kruger National Park, spend the afternoon game viewing along the Sabi River watching the game drinking at the rivers edge. Overnight at Skukuza including a traditional braai (BBQ) served under the African stars. Day 2. Rising at first light, head out for an early mornings game viewing before calling in at Lower Sabi Rest Camp for breakfast. Heading north into the highlands take a view from Nkombi lookout point. Reaching your overnight rest camp, Satara, time for a light lunch before preparing for an evenings game drive in the area followed by a late supper eaten again under the stars. Day 3. Again rising at dawn, the day is started with an early morning game as you slowly make your way out of the Kruger National Park. A late brunch is served before leaving the Park. Heading up the escarpment the tour takes in views of the breathtaking panorama of the Blyde River Canyon, en route for Johannesburg.
