Secret Jewels (1) is a 7 night all-lodge safari of the northern part of Zambia’s largest yet little known national park, Kafue National Park. including Busanga Plains.

This safari includes overnight stays at 5 exclusive, private boutique style lodges with game drives, river rides and bush walks included, and can be combined with secret Jewels (2) to form a cohesive 14 night safari of both north and south Kafue National Park.
Itinerary
Day 1
arr Lusaka. Met at airport, drive to the first nights lodge on the banks of the Lufupa River. Evening game drive or take a dip in near by hot springs. (drive 5 hours)
Day 2
Short drive to near-by rustic camp, run by re known lion expert and celebrated author Chris McBride, whose game walks cannot be missed. (drive 40 mins)
Day 3
Take a banana boat down stream to fly-camp and overnight on an island in the river.
Days 4,5,6
Again taking to the water, travel downstream to newly upgraded and rebuilt lodge at the confluence of the Lufupa and Kafue Rivers for lunch then take the scenic drive north through Kafue National Park to remote and beautiful Busanka Plains. Stay for three nights in a beautiful bush camp environment in en-suite safari tents over looking the plains. Game walks and night drives are included here. (drive 3 hours)
Day 7
Returning south through the Park, overnight at a well known lodge on the banks of the Kafue River. Evening game drive into “wild” side of Kafue or evening sunset cruise are included.(drive 5 hours)
Day 8
Return to Lusaka, Safari ends after lunch. Transfer to airport (drive 3 hours)

A word about this safari.
This is an all lodge safari. You will be accompanied through out by an experienced driver/guide and transported in an air conditioned comfortable bush vehicle. All activities will be provided by staff from each lodge according to its location and speciality.
Price
The price of the above itinerary of 7 nights for 2009 is US$ 3,595 per person for a minimum of four people travelling together.
