See Botswana from a different aspect without the usual cost, stay at private boutique style lodges with game drives, night drives and bush walks included. Lodges subject to availability. Bookings for summer 2009 also being taken. This safari can be extended to 8 nights to include a night on the game rich Khwai River, bordering Moremi and Chobe National parks. Please enquire. Itinerary Day 1 Early morning dept South Africa, Gauteng to drive across the border to overnight at a private guest farm outside Francistown. Accommodation in chalets with facilities en-suite. (9 hours drive) Day 2 Short drive north to a privately run camping lodge, in a private game area north of Nata. Accommodation is in chalets with en-suite facilities. The dining/bar area overlooks a waterhole usually alive with elephants. (2.5 hours drive) Day 3 Continue west across Botswana’s pans area, to overnight at a lodge on the northern edge of Ntwetwe Pan overlooking the great Makgadikgadi Pans. (2.5 hours drive) or Continue through the Makgadikgadi/Nxai Pans National park, to overnight at a private game conservancy, adjacent to Nxai Pan. (2 hours drive) Days 4+5 Short drive to nearby Boteti River, flowing this year afterbeing dry for over 15 years. Accommodation in en-suite safari tents overlooking the river. This area is always alive with herds of zebra. Elephant and lion are also plentiful here. (2 hours drive) Day 6. Turning south spend the last night at a private rhino reserve, one of the few places in southern Africa where rhino can be seen today. (4.5 hours drive) Day 7 Return across the border to Johannesburg. (7 hours drive) Disclaimer Whereas the Tour Operator has presented this itinerary in good faith, it is in the nature of a safari that for reasons beyond its control not all aspects of the itinerary may be available at the time the safari takes place. In this instance, the Tour Operator will at its discretion replace certain items, venues or routes with those of a similar or equal nature. A word about this safari. This is an all lodge safari. You will be accompanied through out by an experienced driver/guide and transported in an air conditioned comfortable bush vehicle. All activities will be provided by staff from each lodge according to its location and speciality. Price For bona fide SADC residents the price of the above itinerary of 6 nights for 2010 is SAR 13,900 for a minimum of four people travelling together. (Euro 1,525 per person for non SADC residents) The price includes -transport as indicated above, in special bush vehicles. -food and beverages including three meals per day -entry fees to National Parks. -game drives and activities as specified.
