This tour takes you on safari in the Etosha National Park plus a visit to Kaokoland, one of the few corners of Africa that can truly lay claim to the title 'Africa's last Wilderness' |
Day 1:Windhoek Etosha National Park Arrival at Windhoek International Airport; meet and greet by our representative. We continue via Windhoek to Etosha National Park. We will have picnic lunch en-route. Full Board (camping) Day 2: Etosha National Park After an early breakfast, enjoy the morning exploring the various waterholes before arriving at Halali where you we will enjoy lunch and have time to unwind before dinner. The evening will be concluded with a night game drive. A/D/ (camping) Day 3:Halali Outapi Town lodge We continue our journey further north to the former Owambo land. En-route we will stopover at the Onankali paper museum and Nakambale Museum before we enjoy lunch at the Big Mama. After lunch we continue to Outapi where we will be staying at the Outapi town lodge. Full Board (lodging) Day 4:Kunene Village The next morning we visit the Baobab tree heritage centre before a brief visit to the Tsandi village where we will have the possibility to meet the King in person and be taking through the tradition of the Owambo people. We continue our journey towards the famous Kaokoland. Full Board (camping) Day 5:Kunene Village We have Kunene Village campsite as our base as we continue to the Epupa Falls en-route we pay a visit to a Himba village. We will enjoy picnic lunch at the Epupa Falls before returning late afternoon to Opuwo. Full Board (camping) Day 6:Palmwag We continue our journey towards Palmwag where we will settle and have the afternoon at leisure. DB&B (lodging) Day 7: Palmwag The next morning we will enjoy a game drive, tracing the elusive desert adapted elephants in the Hoanib River. The endangered elephants have adapted to extreme wilderness conditions and can go for up four days without water. Full Board (lodging) Day 8:We continue our journey towards the Damara land where we will be camping at Camp Xaragu. We will visit the rock engravings Twyfelfontein and the Petrified forest after lunch. Te afternoon is spent on leisure. Full Board (camping) Day 9: Okonjima Today we travel to Okonjima Lodge, home of the AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to long-term conservation of Namibias largest carnivores. Here we will see cheetahs, leopards and lions researched and rehabilitated. Full board Day 10: Windhoek After breakfast we continue towards the capital, where you will have the afternoon at leisure before dinner with a local family in the township. D/B&B Day 11: After breakfast, you will have time for shopping before transfer to the airport where your explorer ends.
