I T I N E R A R Y

Day 1:
Meet at the airport and transfer to Hotel, bed and breakfast.

Day 2:
Depart from Dar es Salaam by train early in the morning for Udzungwa National Park. A lunch basket will be provided for the train ride. Arrival at the station will be late afternoon where your guide will be waiting for you. And overnight at Explorer Mobile Camp, full board.

Day 3:
Morning walk to the waterfalls or hike to Luhombereo, Udzungwa highest peak. Over night at Explorer Mobile Camp, full board.

Day 4:
Visit the Kilombero Valley for canoe safari to see the hippos, wildlife including herds of elephants and meeting the fishing community. There are plenty of water birds. Over night at Explorer Mobile Camp, full board.

UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK is the newest, opened to the public 1992, and one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in Tanzania. Covering an area of 1900 sq km., the uniqueness of this park lies in its biodiversity in hosting a variety of animals and plant species not found anywhere else in the world.

Day 5:
This will be along drive of 9 hours through some of the most scenic parts of Southern Tanzania. Villages and the Uluguru Mountains dot along the way. You will make a short lunch break fro a picnic lunch arriving at the lodge by late afternoon. Your late afternoon game drive in Selous begins as you cross form the northern gate to the eastern game. Packed lunched en-route will be provided. Overnight at Lodge, full board.

Day 6&&:
Take the full day to explore the reserve as the famous explorers did in the yester years. Picnic lunch will be under shady trees with a relaxation visit the hot springs. Return to camp late evening in time to freshen up and for dinner. Overnight at Explorer Mobile Camp, full board.

Day 8:
Start the day with a morning boat safari. Late afternoon game drive and overnight at the Over night at Explorer Mobile Camp, full board.

SELOUS GAME RESERVE covering 50,000sq km, this is the largest game reserve in the Africa. The reserve supports an enormous number of elephants, buffalos and wildebeests. Other rare species include the African Hunting dog. The park provides home for some of the last remaining black rhinos.

Explorer Mobile Camps: The accommodation is in dome with equipped with military (cot) bed with shared toilet and shower facilities. The camps are set in private campsites away from crowds. You will be supplied with bed linen and towels. Mosquito netting on all doors and windows provides security from insects. Hot water for bathing is available throughout the day. You are assured of total exclusivity, the warmth of African hospitality, unique opportunities for adventure and a level of comfort and service unexpected in the African wilderness.

Day 9:
After breakfast depart for Kilwa. This will be 7 – 8 hours drive through the coast region. This is one of the most important trade route between Mozambique and Tanzania. Overnight at the Sea Resort, full board

Day 10
After breakfast depart for a tour of Kilwa Kisiwani to visit the ruins and overnight at Sea Resort full board.

Day 11:
Day excursion to Kilwa Kivinje and Kilwa Masoko. Overnight at Sea Resort, full board.

The wealthy island city of Kilwa was the most important of trade centre that flourished along the East African Coast from the 1100s to the early 1500s. Kilwa Kivinje was a major 19th century slave trading center. Roughly 20,000 slaves were exported from there annually during the 1860\'s.

Day 12:
An early start as we head toward Mtwara. Over night at in Hotel, bed and breakfast. The Mtwara region is the country highest produce of cashew nuts.

Day 13:
Morning flight back to Dar es Salaam on continue on with our Northern Mozambique Beach Safari.
